Roundelay Choir was formed in 2003 by Wynne Simister & Alan Myerscough, the Musical Director at Cross Street Chapel, Manchester.Originally just a group of keen friends at Cross Street Chapel, the choir took on official status when it became Roundelay Choir; a name suggested by Peter Sampson.
The choir today consists of 12 people, most of whom are capable of singing solo in addition to being part of the Choir. Although considered a Unitarian Choir, not everyone is Unitarians as it also includes Jewish and Anglican members.
The Choir has performed Fauré's requiem, madrigals, eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century and religious works and often join another group of singers and become Cantantes Domino singing in Blackpool. It has also performed concerts with members of the English National Opera.
